Wifey asks … and this is the result …

Made of solid pine with mortise & tenon and rabbet joinery … I usually do dovetails for the drawers, but I wanted to experiment with rabbet joints since these drawers should not be opening and closing a lot … they can be opened from either side. First stain was yellow alcohol based, followed by Minwax ebony, which nicely highlights the grain patterns and gives a green-gold glow in sunlight.

Now she wants matching end tables! ;-)

That is neat. I like the idea of being able to access the drawers from either side. Cool idea.
