Project Information

I took my inspiration from Doug for this coaster set. What I did differently was chuck my ~5×5x16 "blank" on the lathe and turned it round before slicing into 5/16" thick costers. I was going for a modern look with the holder. It's tapered so the costers "slide" in, are held securely but still easy to pull out. I made six sets of coasters in total and this is the first one that will be sent to my sister. I plan on trying a few different finishes on the other sets. This one is finsihed with Emmets Good Stuff wood finish.

Thanks for looking and a big thanks to Doug for the idea!

I like your coasters. Hopefully they are glued up with a waterproof glue? Well done.

Phil, there's strips from just about everything I have used over the past year in there. Purpleheart, Cherry, Maple, Madrone, Zebra, Mahogony and Walnut to name a few.

Bill, TitebondIII, I don't own any other wood specific glue.

Jim, Thank you sir.
