Project Information

My latest attempt at a clock box with hidden storage.
This one is Leopardwood with Maple. I always feel that little details make a difference.
The overall size is 13×5.5×7" tall. Interior storage is 10.5×3.5×5.5"
I lined the bottom with 1/2" Kaizen foam.
I used my go-to finish that is lacquer with 10 coats sanded between each coat. I always seem to get good results with lacquer. I always use small rubber bumpers (the ones used for cabinet doors and drawers) on the bottom to protect the surfaces my clocks and boxes are set on.

Wow that combination is great. Have never worked with leopardwood - is it difficult to work with given the unique grain?

Thanks everyone…! I greatly appreciate your feedback.
Leopardwood is an awesome looking wood and is very nice to work with. It is very stable and does not have a splintering problem. It takes a finish nicely.
I have a stack of it in my shop that I bought about 16 years ago when it was reasonably priced. It seems that now the price has at least tripled like so many other woods have.

Thanks…! the show was great. I have been going to and participating in gun shows since the early 1970's and always look forward to the next one… 3 weeks away.Since they are indoors there is Never any weather problems like we had to deal with at outdoor craft shows and and there is ALWAYS a crowd.
