Showcase cover image for Circle Jig for Router

Project Information

This is a simple circle cutting jig for my router. I've used the kind that replaces the foot plate on the router but it's just so inconvenient mounting it to the router. This one slips into the two guide on the router base quickly and works great. The holes for the two thumb screws in the inner block of wood and the center hole for the threaded rod in the outer block are just threaded into the oak with a tap. Turning the threaded rod moves the outer block with the pivot point in or out which gives a micro adjustment to the circle diameter.

More info on this may be seen in the video HERE.

Very nice design. I like the small, compactness of it and the implementation of the micro-adjust is extremely well done. I don't like my current jig and I think I just found the replacement for it:) Even better is that I have all of the parts so it won't cost me a dime! Thanks for sharing this great design.

This looks way better than the jigs that replace the base plate. I'm definitely making this for myself. Thanks!

Great idea for a circle cutting jig! May have to borrow this idea, too.
