Project Information

My wife and I have lived in Napa for 9 years now…but this is only our 2nd time staying at home for Christmas. Since we are the teachers with allllll that time off we have always been the ones to travel…but this year when we got back from our Thanksgiving trip we started thinking about how nice it would be to just stay home and relax…with three kids, lots to do around the house (and a few stacks of papers to grade--still) we decided to stay home…

Well…like we did a few years ago when we stayed here…my wife made lots of cookies and candy to give to a few neighbors and a greeting…this year we put it all in nice boxes…and did this for 12 neighbors on our end of the street that live near us…and to a few of them I added some wine bottle stoppers…

So…since we dont have Chef-jocks…here is my wife and daughter's good work…Hannah is 5…and she helped with the frosting…we loaded up all the boxes in the stroller and surprised our neighbors…

The winestoppers??? They are blood wood and I got the stainless steel tear drop stoppers…they run $4.99 i think…they are very easy to use…I had to get a mandrel to put in my lathe chuck but that was only $7.99 if I remember correctly…well worth it…now that I have done some stoppers with other stoppers these were the easiest…

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Very nice wine stoppers. The boxes look delicious, and Hannah looks like shes waiting for Santa. Very Good Job. And Yall have a merry Christmas.

It is gestures like yours that make a neighborhood a good one. I like these, someday I may get a lathe.

I have almond trees on our property and my wife has been making almond cookies and flavored dry roasted almonds to give as gifts, I spent my time in August harvesting and shelling them.

Great Ideas!

These are the gifts that mean the most to those who receive them!

I think I like the shape of the middle stopper the best.
