Project Information

This chisel rack / stand was one of the very first woodworking projects i did, if not the first one. It was also the first time i used a router and Danish oil.
The pictures are not so old though, i recently applied a coat of beeswax because it looked a bit dry. Originally it was finished with 3 coats of Danish oil. It's funny how no Danish people have ever heard about Danish oil when i mention it:) Thanks for looking

Nice work, beautiful display for useful tools.
It's probably like French fries, not actually French :)

Nice, need to redo mine to look OK at some point.

Pretty sure it's called Danish Oil because it was based on the look of scandinavian furniture when it became popular, covers a huge range of stuff.
You won't call it Danish Oil in the same way we don't call an oak tree an English oak.

Cool stand DK... is that one of them the dark sheep of the flock? I also like that mallet.

If that was true, I'd be worried about the source of baby oil! I also fear a SWMBO retaliation if I mention tung oil....

Silly people, Danish oil comes from your local pastry shop 8^)

Nice storage Kenni!, you could hang that on a wall or take it to your bench.

I like your rack! I'll probably build one just like it once I buy some nice chisels. I was actually laying in be last night thinking about how to store chisels that I don't even own yet and this one is very nice, true story sadly. Only thing that would make it better if it also held that cool little mallet too.

Fun fact about Danish oil, it was actually invented by a guy named Dan but he didn't really feel like the name Dan represented him that well. Dan-ish…

I bought them from finetools.com in germany. I think woodriver sell them too.
