Built this futon for my son for Christmas as a nice piece for his 1 BR bachelor pad. My first large project with a lot of joinery and I had to build and turn the arms. It's a beautiful and comfortable piece and I hope my son keeps it in the family as an Heirloom. You can see my basement shops is a little small, but I staged the pieces in our basement storage/craft rooms. All wood was 1/4 sawn oak has a nice Chippendale type curved back and arms. Most difficult was locating the spring mechanism for the futon frame, because of the sloped arms.
