Project Information

This vessel was out of a nicely figured cherry blank. The finial is African Blackwood and Tulipwood. Took first place in a juried art show in the 3-d category. Another artist snatched it up after the judging for her collection (or a gift, I can't remember). Very humbled by and appreciative of the response!

By the way, you should have seen this one in the sunlight! Awesome grain-depth.

Wow, isn't that a gem. Really fine piece. I can tell that wood just dances. Great job on that.

I'm still at the point with my turning of practicing spindle shapes and learning what the tools do and haven't tried any hollow forms yet but I can still appreciate a great one when I see it. Pieces like this are the reason I want to do it in the first place and the wood choice and finish just really makes this thing stand out. Thanks for you (and trifern and a few others) for giving me something to strive for.
