Project Information

Made this as a Christmas gift for my 9 mo. old grandson.

Made of Cherry, and the giraffe is tall like a cherry picker, so that's his name.

Construction is just flat cherry 1" thick, with 1" ball wheels
My lathe is not operable right now, so I had to buy the balls pre-made
The wheels are glued to the 3/8" axles, so they do roll along.
Cut the outside shape with a 3/16" blade on my Delta 3 wheel bandsaw.
Drilled and cut the inner opening on the scrollsaw.

Very cute.
I had one of those Delta bandsaws. It served the purpose while I had it, although I did burn out a motor cutting through some 3" maple, if memory serves.
