Project Information

This is a dresser that I built from a picture my wife selected from Fine Woodworking Magazine #254 in the Gallery. I made a few changes to the original but it looks fairly similar. It is constructed from Cherry with Poplar as a secondary for all the internal components in the cabinet, drawer sides etc. There are 110 mortise and tenon joints in the cabinet and the ones in the main frame are pinned with walnut dowels. I also made some stainless-steel booties for the ends of the legs. It took me about 2 months to complete the construction in early 2018. I just got back into it and did the finishing this month. Ready to go into the house, finally.

I love it-really well done! It looks like a thoughtful and well executed combination of Tansu, Shaker, and Mission (drawer pulls) styles. This is truly an heirloom project. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I like the dovetails. The tolerances on your drawers are much better than what I can produce. It would have taken me several months to complete a project of this magnitude. Well done.
