That is quite a unique shape Lew! Good job turning and keeping the sharp edge all the way around. Poly is a lot of work but sure results in a neat finish.

That's a beauty, Lew. Very nice work on it. The cherry will definitely darken with more sunlight on it.

I love the shape and grain. Put it in a window for a few days or weeks and that'll definitely speed up the darkening process. Just remember to rotate it regularly, including turning it over so the bottom gets some light too.

A suntan will leave that combo looking luxurious, nice matching, and a great turning.

You can test how dark it will get with lye on an off-cut… Just brush some lye on, and presto, instant 10+ years of sunlight simulated, then rinse it off. If you don't have just straight lye, "Easy Off" over cleaner has lye in it, so you can try that. But, don't use Easy Off on a good project, due to the added detergents, since that can cause trouble for your fiinishes. Be sure to wear goggles and gloves, but good luck! Awesome turning work, it deserves a great finish!

Stylish! That rim looks like perfection. The gold accent will only get more eye catching as the wood ages, nice work!
