Project Information

Here is another one of my projects. I made this for my oldest daughter's Birthday last summer. It is a two toned charging station for all her little "techie" gadgets like her cell phone and blackberry. I made it from maple and walnut.

Like my other projects, I have a page on my website going through the details of the build process if interested at: http://www.oldaveswoodshop.com/D's%20Project.php

Very nice station, like the "dark" perimeter and the detail of the bronze rods to hide the ugliest part of electronics…..cables!

I built a couple of these using the same plans. Building the first one, I followed the plans exactly. The second one was modified to be able to fit a larger power strip and also to hold a couple extra devices. I have never found anything even close to this as far as functionability. Nice job.

Dave--is the lid "flipping"? are those "prongs" as a handle or some other function…

Very cool…

Dave, I have built probably 10 docking stations. Nice job! I used the plans from Handyman magazine. Everyone that sees's them I make from oak; say they have to have one. I need to learn to say no one day. There fun, but as all woodworkers know its fun to learn and try new things. Ohhh by the way have to make 2 more so far says my wife!

Awesome design. I really like the coin slot in the back. Great idea for loose change. Just like everbody says "I need to make one of those." Soon, very soon.
