Project Information

Here's the changing table I made last year for our little one. It's made out of southern yellow pine, but painted a very dark brown to match the other furniture in the nursery. The design is rather simple and the top part which holds the changing pad, diapers, wipes and other stuff is removable so that it doubles as a storage piece that can be used in other parts of the home. I preferred the way it looked in natural pine (the last photo), but again we were trying to match it to the other furniture. Painting it was a bitch because of all the slats.

Update: Now there's a giant tree shelf above it. See here.

Brandon, that is a very practical design. My grandchild's changing table has cabinets with shelves and sometimes its not easy reaching for things while keeping a hand on her. I like the open design. Well done.

Pretty cool. It should look nice in the kitchen or somewhere after its one being a changing table. I can picture a few wine bottles laying on the bottom shelves.

Thanks guys! That's the idea, Mauricio, although I'm not sure where I'll put it when the little one out-grows it.

It is great that you designed it so as to have future purpose after its original mission is completed. Nice work Brandon.

Nice design Brandon. I can't decide whether I like it better natural or painted. Maybe I lean towards the natural.
