Project Information

Mom and her young 'uns just having fun!
This is a prototype for my power carving class I'll be offering at our Lee Valley Tool store at the end of September.
I wanted to challenge the students to project fluidity and motion. The dolphins are stylized and the wood grain is prominent. Looking forward to some fun with my class.
Cheerio,
Roman

Nice work, Roman. I'd like to take your class. A couple of years ago my sister asked me to make her a spoon with a dolphin on it and I keep putting it off. Great selection (contrast) of wood, too.

Beautiful job and the tomato plant looks great too. The grains of the woods and how they flow with the sculpting is very well done.

That would be a great class to be part of Roman :)
These guys are certainly having fun, I like the head on shot as if you looking over the back of the boat at the chase.
Top work as always
cheers Pete

Good morning Larry,
Thanks for the compliment. I am glad I provided you with some joy. I also get a lot of comfort and pleasure in making these wooden things.
Yesterday was a bad day for me but I climbed out of the hole for some fresh air and this morning I designed another boot project where I plan to incorporate a few new things to express a new image of creativity.
Now it's back to the design table.

Roman, I do understand having bad days.. For me woodwork can be the fix all band aid that makes problems easier to solve. I would love one day to set with you and learn from a master carver.
