Project Information

I'm posting this on behalf of my friend, Bill F., who designed and built this Folding Carving Table.

If you would like to build one for yourself, plans are available here - http://mychipcarving.com/productinfo.php/folding-carving-table-plans-p-265#.VSa9evnFT9

This Folding Carving Table is perfect for all the carving you do at home and on the road. With an adjustable upright column the table height ranges from 19" to 23" high. The table top adjusts to an angle that is comfortable for you. A removable insert includes a lazy susan so you can easily rotate your work when making various cuts. Make more than one insert for assorted uses like woodburning, relief carving, painting and scroll saw work. Attach a work light and surge strip on the back to complete your table. When folded this Carving Table measures only 9" x 16" x 26" for easy transportation and storage.

Included:
24 page plan set
Materials list
Details drawings for each part
Select photos showing part of the construction process

I have not done any carving but want to.

So my question is; would a lazy Susan work good with this?

Hello Arlin,
So my question is; would a lazy Susan work good with this?
Yes! If you look at the main picture above, the insert on the top of the table has a lazy susan underneath the square piece shown on top! When your carving is placed on this square you can easily spin it around to make a cut from the other side. The plans include assembly with the lazy susan.
Adding a no-slip mat on the top of this square is a good idea too!

It would be good to point out up front that these plans cost money. That is not obvious from the offer wording.
