Project Information

I hand carved this céad míle fáilte (hundred thousand welcomes in Irish) sign to give to April Wilkerson on her trip to Ireland. It is made from a piece of ash. I used a nail with the tip blunted to make the stippling around the Shamrock. I used a woodburner to make the lettering and finished it with spray lacquer. I made a Youtube video for this project, please check it out!

Very nice and educational video. Very good project, makes you wanna carve something. Some good elements on this project, besides carving - nail holes and burned letters.

I love the idea of you simply using a blunt end of a nail. I have been searching for stipple punches, but what I should be thinking of is simple solutions like you yourself have done.

Well, done.
