Playing around doing miters with my tenoning jig and came up with a whimsical shelf idea for a MD acquaintance. Still needs a few more oil coats then wax. But the result is plain to see. The best comment so far was the guy who came in and said; "I'd buy that in a heartbeat".

Neat shelf (love walnut!)...although not sure how "healthy" the heart rhythm is 😉

Could you comment on the joints- are they reinforced, or just glue?

Very clever and great looking. How did you cut those very acute angles?

Mitered on the tablesaw (15 deg.) and used a tenoning jig.

5/16" material mitered to 15 deg. created a 1"+ wide area for the glue joint. The weakest connection is the straights. The glue was reinforced with pins both vertically and horizontally. Not intended to hold any great weight.
