Candle Holders

very good work, i wanted to make something like this but now i have to change the desighn so it don't look like i copied you. it's only cuz i'm stuck for what projects to make right now. Nice job.

What stains did you use on the Oak ? I thought that they were made from Mahogany and Walnut at first glance : )

I used a light coat of cherry stain on all of them. The stock came from two different oak boards giving them their unique appearance. The boards were from a shipping crate many years old so it's possible that they are different species of oak.

I always like to hear a good "saved the wood" story.

Much better than my design - I loved how quick these projects come together. A year's worth of scraps and one afternoon = christmas presents for family and work.

I've found some of the nicest pieces of wood in pallets over the years : ) It's truly amazing that they say it's not good enough for certain requirements , so they make pallets out of it : ) Don't tell anybody though LOL
