Project Information

Made this candle holder for a friend who's son is having Eagle Scout ceremony. Made from cedar I cut here on property and milled into dimensional lumber. Planed it to 2 1/4" then used jigsaw to cut pattern out. Used 1/4" poplar for inlaid pieces. Routed 3/8" deep in center opening so that Eagle head is slightly recessed below surface. Then routed only 1/8" for small Boy Scouts of America initial tiles so that they are slightly raised from surface. Attached candle holder piece to back by inserting threaded inserts into main body and screwing on so that it would be easily removable. Used woodburner to burn graphics. Sanded and finished with natural stain/sealer. Over all dimensions approx 12 1/2" tall x 8" wide x 4 3/4" thick.

That's a great looking Eagle Scout candle holder-I'm sure the new Eagle will be very appreciative of it!

As an Eagle myself, it's nice to see the next generation get the recognition they deserve!
