Project Information

This chalice is made from a Camphor tree grown in central Florida and has some beautiful coloring and grain. Camphor is a very aromatic wood and I have left a hole in the bottom unsealed so the camphor odor is still present. The chalice measures 6 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches high. The base is 3 inches in diameter.
The bowl is finished with a satin lacquer. Camphor wood is quite pleasant to turn, but again, is very aromatic, so I have to open my shop up completely to stand the strong odor.
