I had to replace a cedar gate in my back yard. I repurposed the old cedar boards into a Butterfly House. The new cedar boards had scraps left over so I used them to also make a butterfly house too. The roof has cedar boards under the metal. The roof overhangs on the sides but is flush on the front and back. Four screws on the side hold the bottom in place. If necessary to clean it out, remove two screws and the bottom should rotate down.It was recommended that the area near the top not have any holes to provide them protection from the wind and heat. When finished, I used a long extended screw driver in my drill and reached thru one of the holes to screw the back to a cedar post on my fence. I used 3 deck screws to anchor it in place. I also drilled 2 3/16th" holes into the bottom so moisture could escape.

They do look neat in a garden, do they actually get used though.

Very nice houses I would be interested in if they are used or not also.

Never saw one of these before. If they work and the wasps and hornets stay out of them, know a LOT of people that will want one.
