Great project. Two questions:
What book?
What kind of tree?

Looks great, nicely done. I dream of taking a tree from standing timber to finished project including building my own band sawmill, one day. I see you did it the hard way, with sledge and wedge, hard work but must have been very satisfying work.

Nice. Great job, Kai. Did you turn the legs as suggested in "the book" or did you plug in? Either way, you did good work.

I just finished the same book. I'm still working on getting straight splits out of a log.

Nice job. Cool lathe too. This is a project I've been interested in a for a while, but the angle joinery scares me a bit - that, plus it's really hard to ind green oak logs that are big enough.

I have been wanting to do that for a long time. Thanks for reminding me that it is still on my list.
