Dan;

I know I'm supposed to be going ooh and ah about the tile, which I am. It's beautiful.

BUT, the frames you are making are incredible! This particular one I believe is my favorite, as it has both arts and crafts, and an oriental flare combined together in such a way that takes a style considered clunky by some, and make it so graceful it looks to be floating.

This frame is stunning.

Thanks for the great comments. This particular frame design is a variation on one of my oldest designs.

I'm constantly looking for new ideas, but will revert back to my old design work sometimes to ground myself.

I never make anything exactly the same each time. This one has the most narrow corbels so far…. something like 1 1/8 wide. Over all dimension of the frame is 21×27. Tile is about 6×12 and 1/2 thick.

Love this frame Dan. It has almost a Gothic quality to me. Love the little tacks (nails?). Well done, again.

You have got to come out to the Arts and Crafts Weekend here in October.

Thanks for the great feedback.

I have a couple other tiles, a castle landscape and the scarab framed the same way.

Will post them in the future.

Dan, I see this is an older project/post, but I have a question regarding your tilemaking process. You mention that all tiles start as mahogany relief wood carvings prior to making plaster molds and press forming. Have you done any woodcut relief printing of these wood carvings, as well?

Was curious how they may look possibly in sepia, sienna or raw umber colors with your framework!
