Project Information

I work for a private school that has a summer camp. In our camp ground there is a dry bed creek that I had made a little deeper and wider to handle the water run off. Now I had to build a bridge for the kids to come across.

I rough cut all of the risers in my shop with a band saw, and then used my router to trim them to a templet. The arch is attached to a concrete pad on each end.

A supplier was looking at the property and ask me to build him one. I cut his out like a kit and he installed it. The bridge is 3' wide by 9' long and the arch is about 18" high. It is made from pressure treated pine.

That is me standing on the bridge and we do get snow in Georgia. Yes, that is a tepee in the back ground of me standing on the bridge.

Nice bridge. Reminds me of one that I built a few years ago.

Bearpaw,

This is a nice looking bridge. I like the looks of the piece. I built something similar to this as well but as a plant stand for our deck. Same general design but on a smaller scale.

Thanks for the post.
