Project Information

I started this box almost two years ago as a gift for my woodworking mentor of sorts…it was my first real project. Due some naive design decisions and plenty of other distractions along the way, it's taken me until now to finish it.

It is designed to be used as a monitor stand with the drawer pulled out sideways.

Details
Size: 14.5" x 10" x 3.5"
Wood: Bubinga, Wenge, and figured Anigre veneer
Finish: Boiled linseed oil, Waterlox sealer, several coats of wipe-on poly, Beall buffing system, and finally Renaissance wax.

I'm thinking that will never have a monitor on it. That wood is too pretty to cover up! Nice idea though.

Really nice, I think you should give him an old phone book and just keep it.

Two years is a long time, but it was worth the wait!
