Project Information

As glue bottles get less than half full I tire of waiting for it to run down when the bottle was inverted. Photo two was my first effort to resolve the problem. It was to tall for my shelf space and not very stable. Photo 3 was my next prototype - much better. Photos 1 and 4 show the end result in oak.

They look good enough to throw a Tea Light in when you aren't gluing.

Much better looking than mine. I just drilled a hole in a chunk of 2×4.

Great idea socr~...

I often "used to" upside down my bottle in dog holes in my workbench… however, after failing to close the cap and a few times a drawer with glue, made me abandon that practice… this is a handy solution.

As an aside, may I dare to suggest taking it one step further and somehow combine this with DP's Drink Holder... Shouldn't be harder to reach for the glue than a drink… unless it's a cheap-vino-cask without a cradle… just don't confuse the drink and the glue or you'll clag up your epiglottis… but then again with the blockage.. no need for that elusive TP.

This is one of those "Why didn't I think of that" ideas.

Glad you thought of it - thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys. Greatly surprised by top 3 designation. Yes I used 2 different forstner bits - one for cap depth and one for spout depth.

Cool idea! I have some short chunks of maple left over from my carving bench build that would work great for some of these. I couldn't bring myself to throw them out quite yet, and now I don't have to!

An excellent solution but I too would fear leaving the cap open. I personally just use titebond 3 for everything so that I can keep a gallon jug around and have a chance of finishing it within a couple of years. When I start having to wait for the 16 oz bottles to flow they just get topped up from the gallon jug.

Very cool, I've done this with my epoxy bottles but not my glue. Thx for sharing.
