Project Information

I haven't posted a project in a while. In truth, I haven't been doing much in the shop lately due to time constraints and other hobbies. So I made up my mind to make a box this weekend… just to keep my hand in the game, if nothing else.

I had a few small pieces of Bloodwood laying around, and the accent wood is, I believe, Canarywood. The finish is BLO, buffed out on the 3-wheel system.

I hope all my old friends here are well!

You bet Charlie it's fun to make something from wood that's around the shop just to make something out of it and stay in the swing of things .
Nice little box it turned out to be for someone .
Yes I think for the most part everyone is well but summer keeps a lot of guys busy with other things .

Stay well !

love the flow of the grain like a wave rising upwards. the color combination really works well on this one adding nice accents which brings up that grain flow.

Thanks everybody!

In case anyone was wondering, I made the lid by laminating a piece of Bloodwood to a piece of Canarywood, then routed the profile to expose more of the Canarywood.

Hi Charlie, perfect box you got there and the colors of the wood compliment each other, well done. I hope all the other friends are well and fine. My youngest, Megan cried the other day that she is running out of single friends and I said, I am running out of alive friends, sad but true

Thanks for sharing your work Charlie, keep well.

Another beauty my friend! Box making is addictive. I went for a long time but just finished 2 new ones. We'll see how long I can go before I need another "fix". Hope you are having a great summer.
