I didn't do the finish on this unit however I have seen the process. The first step is a to apply a wood bleach to the walnut. I believe its a two part mixture. Next is an application of a half water half viniger mix. Then there were two coats of a wipe on oil base stain. The color was made by the finisher and Im unsure of the tones used. Then two coats of sealer sanding between coats. Then He might have added some glazing (can't remember) on the rail and stile profiles. Then a couple coats of lacquer. I did a similar finish of a closet for my daughter that I'll be posting soon.
