Project Information

This is a Black Cherry wall mirror I made for my daughter and son-in-law for their front hallway. I wanted a place for their keys and such. What you can not see in the picture is the distress cracks in the cherry. When I planed my rough cherry board I was really disappointed that when the black surface aging was planed off there were cracks all through the wood. I got an idea to turn the cracks into an antique looking piece and it turned out beautiful. Just a simple design!

The mirror turned out so nice that I specifically look for boards that have aged in the sun, my sawyer loves me because no one wants these pieces.

If you see an aged piece take a chance on it, it might be a diamond in the rough!!
