Project Information

Made this bookshelf at the request of my oldest daughter for her son who will be born in January. She wouldn't let me put much color in it. It's colored to her specifications. Pretty easy project. Just pine except propeller is maple. To make the rotary engine, I drilled dowel holes at 45 degree angles in a block of wood. Then I turned it on the lathe to expose half the dowel cylinders. Inserted the dowels and cut flush. Presto! Rotary cylinders. Propeller and wheels turn freely. Propeller was the hardest part. Wife painted the minion pilot for me.
