Played with the wood steamer again, this time with some black locust I got from my buddy mechanic. I bent a piece of black locust around a 3" PVC pipe and suspended it on an oak dowel. I put a piece of maple at the end of it to complement the curly maple base.
Everything is attached by fitting the pieces together with some kind of joinery. Finished with a wood conditioner, natural stain, gloss polyurethane, then a spray gloss polyurethane.
This was a project to see how the black locust would turn out finished as I just had some cut up. Can't wait to play with some more once it's dried.
