Project Information

This is a bench that I built as an anniversary present for my wife. She mentioned that she would like to have a place to store the kids toys on the screened porch. So I surprised her by building this while she was away with her family. It is made up of 3/4" sandply, beadboard, and pine edging. I used biscuits and pocket hole screws to hold it all together. All that is left to do is add a cushion for the seat…then….relax and enjoy.

EROCK - I primed it with Kilz interior/exterior then just painted a couple of coats of the Exterior Behr paint that you find at the local box store.

Did you spray it or brush it? It looks super smooth.

I used a brush and a foam roller. It turned out pretty good, but the poor camera resolution probably hides some of the texture. I am a terrible painter.

That's a really nice bench and very useful. I know that your wife must have been very surprised and happy upon returning from her trip. One of the best things about woodworking is that it allows you to make nice things for the people that you love.
