Project Information

This is my second version of the beer coolers I have been making over the past 2 months. All the coolers I have built so far are from reclaimed redwood, and they have really turned out nice. This one is for a buddy of mine who came over and saw one I had built for another friend, and wanted some more storage on the side for his outdoor patio kitchen. So this is what I came up with. It is extremely sturdy, as I always over build things. It has the horse shoe handle and the railroad spike bottle opener.

Just a side note, since I have joined this site about 1 year ago, I am truly amazed at what everyone builds. This adventure has really been nice for me. I have really grown as an amateur wood worker and I have a long way to go, but if I have learned at least one thing that is I am a lot more patience in what I m doing in my shop. That is in part because I am trying to do better work and not a lot of it, based on what great projects I see in this group.

As always thanks for looking.

Great looking cooler, that is a of glueing for the sides. We will have to get together this summer. I travel quite often, but will be back in a few weeks. Maybe get together in May of June.

Nicely done Tim. I love the compartments, turning this into a truly functional BBQ station. I intent to go down the "BBQ station" path the next time out. Here is my current version: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/89963

Nick, I did see your cooler and based mine off your and others. I like the art work on front of yours. I plan to personalize a few with a wood burner I purchased. I do have a lot of 6 inch cedar boards, so when I run out of my redwood, that is my next choice. The cedar boards look nice.
