This is such a good idea, especially since the world population of bees is dying off. I have done a similar project by drilling holes in a post of non-treated wood and the bees loved it, coming back year after year, Your little house is so much more stylish!

ARRGGG All I see is DEATH in a BOX! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

But I do find your random pattern of holes somehow pleasing from an artistic perspective.

RUN! RUN! BEES! WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!

With all those holes, I thought maybe someone was shooting at the birds… I have never seen a bee hive that looked like this. pretty elegant solution.

Um… hollow twigs? Are you drilling all those? Or is it bamboo? Neat idea.

Good idea. And it actually works? Not that I'm a fan of bees, but I know they play their part.

These are twigs from a Elderberry tree. They are hollow.
You better can have bees than wasp in your garden….....

It's really a beauty, but I'm allergic to bee stings, so it will not 'bee' for 'mee'...

These are for mason bees, I have several around the yard, as they are the early pollenators around here for my fruit trees. They will winter over in the holes, and pack themselfs in with mud.

Houtje:

Excellent Project! I actually like Bees. Might do something like this and put it somewhere near my Bat Motel!

jockmike2: Would your comment not be considered to be "Politically Incorrect"? Well …..the Bee's probably don't give a Do Do one way or the other …LOL… Oh! My dog ate that piece of paper so I guess we'll never know the Plural for Female Mees'es. ;-}
