Project Information

I love to build projects from materials that others would reject. I think that it is important to remember especially when just starting in woodworking that tools and materials do not define us or our skills. This bench was made from scraps that were FREE from a residential construction site. As in dumpster diving with permission. Here is a video for those that are interested.

Awesome! My goal was for it to look like an old church pew that had been painted. It took lots of restraint to leave some blemishes in the wood and not sand it perfectly smooth.

Very nice. Church pew styles are some of the most comfortable hardwood styles when cushions aren't involved. That looks comfy!

Love the bench, you do have some skills! I'm impressed that your scraps are so large. You've got a good connection. LOL Beautiful project!

I will troll construction sites and ask for scraps. Often shocked at what they trash. My home was built last year and the builder filled 4 dumpsters after all that I took out.
