Wood And Materials Used
White oak, poplar, plywood
Location
Virginia
During bathroom remodel, decided to build the vanity myself to save some money. We wanted a "floating" cabinet design with a contemporary natural wood (light) look. Had some very nice rift saw white oak on hand so used that across the front, maintaining the grain. Used mechanical undercount slides for long term durability for the drawers. Plywood for the carcass, poplar for the drawer boxes and the white oak for drawer fronts and door. Finished with many coats of a wiping varnish and a light coat of wax.
Cheers -

Nice dovetails. Great job on the continuous grain across the entire front.
I know a little bit about the stress of making that first cut into a monster glue-up like that. Walnut Vanity

Looks really good. The undermount slides make for a good look when the drawers are pulled out too. The riftsawn oak with continuous grain turned out great.

Beautifully done. The continous grain is a eye-catching feature and really adds to the look. Great job!
