Project Information

I recently built a new miter saw station out of 2×4s. I left the bottoms open with the intention of adding different storage options underneath and I just finished the first step: building a set of simple drawers under the drill press module so I can store all my bits and various accessories.

I decided to use Euro slides for the first time. I've used ball bearing slides for bigger drawers in the past, but I decided to try these out to save on costs a little, and really just to try them out. I built the drawers using 1/2 inch plywood, glue and pocket screws, then added drawer fronts.

The hardest part of building drawers in my opinion is getting the dimensions right so they fit perfectly. I've outlined the process in my tutorial if you want to learn more: WATCH THE VIDEO

Marie, it looks like a cabinet of drawers to me. You mentioned mounting the drawers gave you fits. Next time try from the floor up. Using a spacer just like you did when you mounted your drawer fronts. Instead of a stack of washers you will probably be using a 2×4 though. For me it goes a lot faster, especially on drawers of differing heights.

Keep making. Thanks for posting.

Looks good, look into Gliderite slides. Fo the same cost as euro's per unit you can get a 10 pack and it comes out the same. Extra slides / always a good thing!!

Looks like an awesome project beautiful Bosch saw too. I've got the same one and it's served me well for almost 3 years now.
