Some friends gave me some very old barnwood (a true 1"x12"). I didn't have a pattern, but rather an idea of what I wanted these to look like. I ripped the top pieces into narrow strips and created a herringbone pattern, but also wanted to incorporate the bark somewhere in the tables…...and this is the end product. I shot 2 coats of Polycrylic on them which really brought out the character and colors of the old circular sawn lumber. I accented them with the cast iron rusty stars and drawer pull.
