Project Information

My first barn wood project

Here on my property there is an old barn that was built over 100 years ago and I decided instead of trying to repair it I would reclaim the wood to create one of a kind pieces. The barn is made of a combination of different kinds of wood as so many barns were made so long ago.
The antique hinges are hammer finished and the door handles are hand carved. The hutch is put together using handmade dowel pins, tongue and groove, and lap joints. I only used nails on the glass door and screws to hold the base together and the hinges.
Needless to say this beautiful Hutch is a unique one of a kind piece that is going to bring warmth and charm to any home.

That's one beautiful hutch, great looking project. I like the scrollwork in the middle section, very nice touch. This is going to become an heirloom for sure.

Beautiful and well made hutch! Like the design especially the carved handles. Great use of barn wood and great finish. It will be enjoyed forever by the whole family. Great job! Looking forward to more barn wood projects.
