Workshop Information

United States
My shop is a continually evolving thing. My primary workspace has been the single-car garage, and as recently as a month ago, I was managing to share it with my wife's car by keeping all the large tools on wheels. Acquiring the lathe in April changed that, since it can't be moved (at least, not yet), and takes up too much room to fit the car back inside.

The Jet hybrid saw was a CL find in December '12 from a cabinetmaker in Ankeny, IA who was upgrading to a 3HP model. I've mounted it on a heavy-duty ShopFox cart since the photo was taken, and it lets me wheel it out of the way when the space is needed for other things. A 48" square flip-top assembly table doubles as an outfeed table, and also rolls away for storage.

A Delta dust collector with a Thien cyclone separator (30-gal garbage can) is also mounted on wheels, and plugs in wherever needed.

There's a Grizzly G0555LX BS with the riser block and Highland Woodworking Wood Slicer blades. 11" of walnut is the largest I've tackled yet - but it does the job!

Inside, there's a Porter-Cable drill press, also mounted on wheels, with an MDF table I added. A Rigid 13" planer on a portable stand, small router table on a workmate stand, and a Moxon vice can be added to the workbench when needed.
