Project Information
We'll, I ripped off choppertoo's balancing clock and tried a balancing vase from walnut and hickory scraps.
I put the big triangle block on it to help weigh it down and try to add stability, but I don't feel like it made much difference.
Due to the variable weight of flowers and water, I did not secure the horizontal beam to the angled base. It just slides together and the weight keeps it in place. The empty vase requires nearly 100% beam extension. A vase full of flowers and water needs to be retracted most of the way so the center of gravity of the triangle is above the foot.
I had no flowers that I felt like cutting, so that's a picture with some mint sprigs. Don't ever plant mint in your garden.
