A friend of mine is the president of a land surveyor association in the local area. They recently had an awards ceremony for their organization and ordered several pen desk sets and custom pens from me as gifts for their board of directors. As an added bonus to a healthy order and an advertising opportunity I donated this Member of the Year award plaque. They left the design up to me. I incorporated the California Land Surveyors Associations logo with a compass plaque design. This plaque was cut on my CNC machine and then routed with a Roman Ogee bit to enhance the look of the outer edge. It is made from cherry wood, stained Red Mahogany, and finished with multiple coats of clear lacquer.
