Project Information
Here is my latest commision complete and most likely the last for a while given the current state of the global economy. The table was made from one slab of figured bubinga. The bottom stretchers are half lapped with pegged through mortise and tenon joinery. The tenons are pegged with ebony. The 1-1/4" top has a 22-1/2 degree bevel 1/4" from the top edge. All edges have been softened. The top stretcher are also half lapped and attached to the leg with hand cut blind dovetails. The dimensions for the table are. 24"dia x 26"h. I applied two coats of tung oil followed by two coats wiping poly and two coats of paste wax. The grain on this piece just sings. First time working with bubinga which I found very difficult to work with albeit rewarding in the end.
