Project Information
Working on designs for several Arts and Crafts mantle clocks. The pictures are of a prototype for the simpler design done to work through construction methods and form. The prototype is 9 inches tall, 9 inches wide at the top, and 5 inches deep constructed of quarter sawn red oak to approximate QSWO (hate wasting prime QSWO for prototypes). The sides are frame and panel construction with a floating quarter-inch panel. The clock face is seven inches square behind a fixed glass face. There is a removable panel in the back to replace batteries and set the time. I'll be using the clock face in the photos for more of a Craftsman style look.
Interested in feedback from Arts and Crafts builders and clock makers. This is a prototype with the usual prototype flaws, but I am interested in thoughts regarding the form and proportions.
