Project Information

ZIRICOTE!!! I had a really nice board lying around for a couple of years and I couldn't find a project worthy of this amazing wood. So, I figured making a box for the Fair would be perfect.
I had fun matching the pattern around the sides of the box, but didn't have enough left to make a top… just a tad short. So I cut it up in thirds sideways and put in some thin Maple to extend the width and add a little character to boot. The hinges were letting the lid fall back too far, so I added some black chain (that I stole from my wife's jewelry making stash) and used some black screws I had to fasten them to the sides and top.
I really like this a kind of a guys valet box, but at the fair, it was women who were looking at it the most.
Go figure!!!
