Man cave Mk.I - Blue tarps, X-mas lights and whole lotta cold… This was a 10×24 lean-to that I used as a shop while renovating the basement. Everything from the basement got piled into the garage and there was absolutely no room left other than for my Brides car. Not much work got done when the temperature dropped below zero.

Man cave Mk.II is a, roughly, 8×10 area at the front of the detached garage. First thing I did was get rid of the incandescent lights and installed 4'LED, 4000K, shops lights. Huge upgrade. Still re-tooling, but current toys include a collection of '50's era table saws and a 4" jointer, all in need of restoration. A 12" Task Force miter saw that should only be used as a wheel stop, but it sorta works, I guess, if it has too. A 2.25 HP router, trim router, some green pneumatic nailers, handful of blue cordless tools and a couple yellow sanders.

Currently working on an upgraded mobile base for the saw/jointer combo. Also eyeballing a VSC Tool fence and adding a router table to the right wing.

Once the money pile is high enough, Mk.III improvements will include plumbing in a natural gas heater, a new sub-panel, and a complete re-wire with outlets EVERYWHERE as I currently only have 1 wall outlet. The entire garage is on a single 20A circuit that is full of gremlins that I'm still trying to find. Sometimes I can have all the lights on, radio going and start up the table saw with no issues. Other times all it takes to pop the breaker is turning on the radio.

After that, checkbook willing, I'm looking at adding a couple more gizmo's in the form of a lunchbox planer, bandsaw, drill press and welder.

I like your space and the evolution you have planned for it. I also really like that pickup you have, wouldn't mind tinkering with one of those myself.

WOW, you sure need the power upgrade. You are lucky to get by with just one 20 amp outlet.

Good luck on your upgrade to allow you to run everything!!

Cheers, Jim
