Project Information

This is my new Arbor Slab Table that was just featured in International Wood Magazine!
I worked with Cormark International my lumber provider that does a bunch of work with Rockler and Woodcraft and has some of the best lumber out there.
It is a furniture piece to see in person but ,your going to have to go to Montana to see because I sold it right away out there!!

I like the idea you made legs as tree.

I can see why your table sold so quickly. I's beautiful! Love the shape of the base and the arched stretcher.
Congratulations!

Not to criticize your work but are you sure the top "Tree" supports (the outside limbs) will not split off? there seems to be a lot of short grain there. I would be afraid of some one leaning heavily on corner.

Thanks everyone and to punkin611 as far as the tree branches supporting the whole slab it does not as there is a whole upper frame that connects and 3 wide running rails to support everything and crazy solid. You can kind of see it on the first photo running length wise under the slab edge set back.

Would have loaded all of the photos showing more of the build but, the page wouldn't let me because of the size. I have all of the photos from the magazine shoot also….

Back to work ! Thanks

Another fine piece Brian.

Can you tell us what you employed to achieve and maintain flatness of the top? Large pieces like to move a lot.

thanks-

Very nice table. Love the legs. When I first saw the tree-like legs, the thought which came to mind…. how would Sam Maloof's organic legs (lower section only) look on this type base, where Sam's organic legs would meet the tree-like base? Just food for thought. Love your table.

Brian - I would love to see more pictures. Can you open them in Adobe and then save them as web or e-mail pictures? That usually works for me to keep the size down when I post a lot of pictures.

Beautiful table. Interesting choice to make the feet geometric in contrast to the organic shapes everywhere else.

I'm with everyone else. You nailed the legs with the right heft for the limbs. Perfect. An instant heirloom for the buyer. Thanks for sharing

This is the best looking trestle table I have ever seen. I absolutely love the design and the details come together beautifully. The "tree" legs are perfectly balance with the square feet and beveled top.

Beautifully done as usual.

Man that's a beautiful trestle table! I really like the base design, with the arched stretcher-and those tree legs!
