Elm and poplar
I made this door for the bathroom in our bedroom. It replaced a cheap luaun door like I still have for the closet. This is my first rail and stile passage door. I bought the hit set a few years ago and finally got around to using it. I milled the elm and tulip poplar and dried it. The poplar panels are from 2 slabs, so the grain is continuous top to bottom. I chose pieces with lots of character. This is finished with several coats of rattle can Helmsman spar urethane. I’m hoping to preserve the green color in the poplar.

Very nice. Love the overall look and the continuous grain of the panels. The shear size of a door project can be a bit daunting. Bravo for taking on the challenge. It looks great...

Nicely done! It will be interesting how/if the poplar color changes. I have found poplar to shift to more brown over time - always interesting to me the shifts in color that occur.
