Project Information

When in Ny last I saw a woman's pendant made out of laminated woods. This i can do too I thinks to myself(and at less than the 40 buck ticket at that) I laminated some and sliced in such ways that each one was different, and gave em all away. i then found some site selling ear wires and the earsOgold earring was born. Again each pair is different and i dont repeat the same laminations twice. i usually get 6-8 pieces from each workup. The earrings contain maple, cumaru, purpleheart, Gaboon ebony and canarywood. The pendant has paduak as well. They are 1 1/2 inches high and 1/4- 1/3 inch wide, and finished with spray laquer.

They are nice.
We have a member of the guild, Ted Baldwin,l who does a lot of htis type of work.

What is really special, and difficult, and most important, is how to safely cut them. Ted has a series of jigs he uses to cut the pieces. He only gives out the secret if you take one of his classes. How do you safely cut such small pieces?

I love this project, a great gift project. If this is original, you might consider putting a copywrite comment on your posting. Somebody will try to sell your idea as their own.
