The new workshop
I like having a shop in a garage. You can open up your garage door which brings in a lot of light, and if you setup your table saw right next to the garage door, you can run through really long boards. I have a porter cable 10'' saw, it works well and I use it a lot. http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/2944 To make your TS even more useful is to make several jigs, like my table saw sled, http://lumberjocks.com/projects/74822 which works really well. And my spline jig gets used a lot too. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/71953

I have a PC 4212 dovetail jig. It's a great jig for dovetails, sliding dovetails, and even box joints!

The router table is another really handy tool to have. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/73552 It has a 2 HP fixed based Drill maser router in the table. For $50, it was well worth the money.

The lumber storage works out really good, and it doesn't take up any floor space.

My workbench is something I use all the time. I built it almost a year ago and it is a great workbench. I have my drill press, which I use all the time, and my scroll saw is very handy to have. I also have some tools hanging on my pegboard.

Thanks for reading!

Very nice. Great to see a young mind In woodworking. I worry about interest dying off over the next couple generations. Stick with it and your skills will grow as fast as your arsenal of tools and scrap pile! Looking forward to seeing some great things.

I'm just a teenager, I've had a lot of experience with woodworking thou. My Grampa is a amazing handyman, he has a really cool shop. I always look forward to work on projects with him.

AJ if you read my Bio We are a lot alike I think you will agree . I am very pleased to see you here with your own shop Its really cool. I am making my grand kids a bench soon. I have to decide how tall to make it. Because I wont let them use any power.tools till they learn to use all the hand tools. Then they have to be tall enough before they can use the stationary power tools. My Grand Daughter and My Grandsons all love the shop but John the youngest likes it the most. He loves to watch me work and he loves to touch the wood. Its like we connect on a different level than the other older kids. I think John will be an Artist He has the dexterity of a much older child and he loves to play with wood.

Great looking wood shop AJ!! I learned woodworking from my grandpa and my dad. It's always nice to hear from the young woodworkers out there.

Keep up the good work, Gramps.
